How a Cosmetic Dentist Uses Dental Bonding

Your cosmetic dentist can use dental bonding to restore your smile. Dental bonding can be used to repair chipped or cracked teeth, close gaps between teeth, improve the shape or length of teeth, protect exposed roots from gum recession, and cover stains or discoloration. The procedure involves applying a tooth-colored composite resin to the tooth, sculpting it into the desired shape, hardening it with a special light, and then polishing it to match the surrounding teeth. Bonding is one of the easiest and least expensive cosmetic procedures and can be completed in one visit. With proper care, bonding can last 3-10 years.
