Sleep apnea dental treatment uses a custom oral appliance to gently reposition your jaw during sleep, helping keep your airway open throughout the night. This approach is ideal for patients who struggle with snoring, restless sleep, or mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea but want an alternative to CPAP machines. At Rohrbach Family Dental, we offer personalized solutions designed for comfort, convenience, and better rest. We take time to listen to your sleep concerns and work closely with your medical team when needed. Our goal is to help you wake up feeling rested, clear-headed, and ready for your day, without bulky equipment or nightly disruptions.

Oral appliances reduce airway blockages, helping you breathe easier and sleep more soundly through the night.
Unlike CPAP machines, dental appliances are small, quiet, and easy to take with you wherever you go.
There’s no need for surgery or noisy machines! Each appliance is tailored to your bite for a secure, comfortable fit.
Our doctors have completed extensive continuing education in dental sleep medicine and have years of experience treating sleep breathing disorders. We take a thorough approach to airway health, routinely screening patients and evaluating anatomy using CBCT 3D imaging, digital scans, and Mallampati classification to identify structural risk factors. Many of our appliances are fabricated and adjusted in-house, allowing us to maintain greater control over precision, comfort, and turnaround time. With Braebon compliance chip technology and Bluetooth pulse oximetry monitoring, we don’t simply deliver an appliance, we confirm that it’s working. Dr. Rohrbach personally wears a sleep appliance and understands firsthand the importance of proper fit, comfort, and long-term effectiveness.
We offer custom oral appliances — including Panthera, Somnomed Herbst, Flex 9, and Braebon (with compliance chip) — designed to keep your airway open and reduce sleep apnea symptoms.
Gentle laser treatments can reduce snoring by tightening and reshaping tissues in the airway, helping you and your loved ones sleep more soundly.
We utilize the Quiet Nite DEKA laser to treat snoring and support airway health. This non-invasive therapy gently tightens and reshapes oral tissues, improving airflow and reducing snoring. It's an excellent adjunctive treatment to oral appliance therapy, and we carefully screen patients to ensure it's the right solution for them.
For your comfort and convenience, we provide sleep studies you can complete at home, giving us insight into your sleep patterns without an overnight lab stay.
Using 3D CBCT imaging, we measure airway volume both before and after treatment, ensuring your therapy is effective.
Every patient receives follow-up pulse oximetry testing, and we re-measure airway volume when appliances are in place to confirm results and long-term success.
For patients who require compliance documentation, we offer Braebon chip readings to track appliance wear time. This helps us ensure the appliance is being worn as prescribed and provides the necessary data for insurance claims or medical review.

If you’ve already had a sleep study within the last 18 months, bring those results with you — they’re required before we can begin treatment. If you haven’t had one, we’ll provide a convenient home sleep study that can be completed in the comfort of your own bed. For patients who are unsure but concerned they may have a sleep breathing disorder, we also offer a free pulse oximetry test to quickly evaluate oxygen levels before moving forward.
During your visit, we use CBCT 3D imaging to measure your airway volume. This helps us understand your airway health and plan treatment precisely. We also take a digital scan of your teeth, so no messy impressions are needed. These scans are sent directly to the lab for virtual appliance fabrication.
Based on your results, we’ll recommend the therapy that best fits your needs. This may include a custom oral appliance (such as Panthera, Somnomed Herbst, Flex 9, or Braebon with compliance chip) or laser therapy to reduce snoring. Every appliance is designed to keep your airway open, improve oxygen flow, and support better sleep and overall health.
After your appliance is fabricated, we use Bluetooth-enabled technology to gather real-time pulse oximetry data. This confirms your appliance is working properly and improving oxygen levels during sleep. We’ll also schedule follow-up pulse ox testing and may re-measure your airway with CBCT to track ongoing improvement. Our team works closely with your primary care provider and pulmonologist to ensure you receive comprehensive care.
No. A physician must diagnose obstructive sleep apnea before oral appliance therapy can begin. We can help coordinate testing if needed.
If oral appliance therapy is not appropriate, we will guide you toward alternative treatment options through your medical provider.
Laser therapy is designed to reduce snoring and support airway health. A physician diagnosis and appropriate medical treatment are required for obstructive sleep apnea.
Common signs include loud snoring, daytime fatigue, morning headaches, and waking up gasping for air. If you or a loved one notices these symptoms, it may be time to schedule a sleep screening. We can guide you through the process and help determine if a dental appliance is right for you. A formal diagnosis often requires a sleep study, which we can help coordinate with your physician.
For many people with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, dental appliances are a highly effective alternative to CPAP. They work by gently shifting the jaw to keep your airway open while you sleep. While CPAP may still be recommended in severe cases, many patients find oral appliances more comfortable and easier to use consistently.
Some medical insurance plans do cover oral appliance therapy for sleep apnea, but coverage can vary. We’ll help you navigate your benefits, provide the necessary documentation, and work with your insurance provider to make the process as smooth as possible. While we will submit to insurance on your behalf, we cannot guarantee payment. Even if the therapy is not fully covered, many patients find that the long-term health and quality-of-life benefits make it a worthwhile investment.
