How Long Does Treatment with Clear Aligners Take?

Clear aligners are growing to be a popular teeth-straightening treatment option. The length of clear aligner treatment depends on the complexity of the case. Minor spacing or crowding issues may take as little as 6 months. Moderate cases typically take 12-18 months. More complex cases may take up to 24 months. Wearing the aligners for the recommended 20-22 hours per day is essential to staying on schedule. Failing to wear the aligners consistently can extend treatment time. Each set of aligners is worn for 1-2 weeks before progressing to the next set. After treatment, retainers must be worn to maintain the results.
