Making Your Implant Crowns Last

Implant crowns are typically recommended when an implant is being used to replace a lost tooth. The implant fuses with bone tissues around it through a process known as osseointegration. Implant crowns can last a lifetime with proper care. Tips for making implant crowns last include: Practice excellent oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and flossing around the implant. Use a water flosser or interdental brushes to clean around the implant base. Avoid chewing on very hard foods like ice or hard candy. Quit smoking, as it impairs healing and increases the risk of implant failure. Visit your dentist regularly for checkups and professional cleanings. Wear a night guard if you grind your teeth.
