Oral Health Regiments Recommended by a Family Dentist

A healthy smile requires a lifetime of care. Your family dentist can start looking after your teeth from a young age and continue through adulthood. Two visits a year are recommended for professional cleanings and thorough checkups. Recommended oral health habits include brushing teeth at least twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, using mouthwash, maintaining a healthy diet, staying hydrated, wearing a mouthguard during contact sports, not smoking or using tobacco, and replacing your toothbrush every 3-4 months. For children, parents should supervise brushing and help with flossing. Dental sealants and fluoride treatments offer added protection.
