Veneers require the same care as natural teeth, including brushing and flossing. They are not suitable for people who clench or grind their teeth without using a night guard. Veneers can last 10-20 years with proper care. They cannot be whitened once placed — if you want whiter teeth, whiten first. They may not be covered by dental insurance as they are considered cosmetic. Temporary sensitivity after placement is normal. Porcelain veneers are more durable and stain-resistant than composite veneers.
