What Reasons Qualify for a Trip to an Emergency Dentistry Office?

Qualifying dental emergencies include severe toothache, knocked-out tooth, cracked or chipped tooth causing pain, lost filling or crown, dental abscess, broken orthodontic appliances causing pain, and uncontrolled bleeding. Not all dental problems require emergency care. Minor chips without pain, a dull ache that can wait, and broken retainers without sharp edges can typically wait for a regular appointment. If you are unsure, call your dentist and describe your symptoms. They can advise whether you need emergency care or can schedule a regular appointment.
