What to Expect When Getting Dental Veneers

Dental veneers can improve your appearance and oral health. These porcelain shells can make dramatic changes to your smile. The dental veneer process involves several steps: Consultation to discuss goals and examine your teeth. A small amount of enamel is removed from the front of the teeth. Impressions are taken and sent to a lab to fabricate the custom veneers. Temporary veneers may be placed while you wait. At the next appointment, the permanent veneers are bonded to the teeth and adjusted for fit and color. With proper care including daily brushing and flossing and regular dental checkups, veneers can last 10-20 years.
