When Would I Need an Implant Crown?

A missing tooth can cause issues with your self-esteem and the functionality of your bite. Among the available restoration options, an increasingly popular choice is an implant crown. A dental implant is a titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone. Once it fuses with the bone through osseointegration, an abutment and crown are attached on top. The crown looks and functions just like a natural tooth. Implant crowns are recommended when a single tooth is missing, when you have enough bone to support the implant, and when you want a permanent solution that does not affect neighboring teeth. Implant crowns can last a lifetime with proper care.
